Cookie Policy
Last Updated: August 1, 2026
Effective Date: August 1, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies ChargeChime uses, why we use them, and your choices regarding their use. This policy applies to both chargechime.com (marketing website) and app.chargechime.com (application).
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your web browser. "Similar technologies" include localStorage, sessionStorage, and HTTP-only tokens. These technologies help websites remember information about your visit.
2. Our Approach: Essential Only
Privacy-First
ChargeChime uses only essential/strictly necessary cookies and storage. We do not use advertising cookies, marketing trackers, third-party analytics (no Google Analytics), social media pixels, or behavioral profiling technologies.
3. Cookies & Storage We Use

4. What We Do NOT Use
For clarity, ChargeChime does NOT use any of the following:
- Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, or any Google tracking services
- Facebook/Meta Pixel or any social media tracking pixels
- Advertising cookies or retargeting technologies
- Cross-site tracking or fingerprinting
- Third-party behavioral analytics (Mixpanel, Amplitude, Segment, Hotjar, etc.)
- Session recording or heatmap tools
- Any technology that tracks you across other websites
5. Third-Party Cookies
The only third-party cookies present on our application are from Clerk (authentication) and Cloudflare (bot protection). Both are strictly necessary for the service to function. Neither is used for tracking, advertising, or profiling.
- Clerk: Clerk Privacy Policy
- Cloudflare: Cloudflare Privacy Policy
6. Global Privacy Control (GPC)
We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. When your browser sends a GPC signal, we:
- Treat it as a valid opt-out of sale/sharing (per CCPA/CPRA)
- Do not set any non-essential cookies or storage
- Record your preference without requiring additional action
Since ChargeChime does not sell or share data, the GPC signal does not change our behavior — but we respect and honor it as an expression of your privacy preferences.
7. "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information"
ChargeChime does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. No opt-out mechanism is necessary because we do not engage in these practices. If this ever changes, we will add a prominent "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link to our website and application and provide a clear opt-out mechanism.
8. Your Choices
Browser Settings
You can configure your browser to block or delete cookies. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent the application from functioning properly (you won't be able to sign in).
Clearing Local Storage
You can clear localStorage via your browser's developer tools or settings. This will reset your cookie consent acknowledgment and privacy preferences.
Opt-Out of Future Non-Essential Cookies
If we ever introduce non-essential cookies (analytics, for example), we will:
- Not set them without your explicit opt-in consent
- Provide granular controls in the cookie banner
- Allow you to change your preferences at any time
- Respect GPC signals as an automatic opt-out
9. Changes to This Policy
We will update this Cookie Policy if we add new cookies or change our practices. The "Last Updated" date at the top indicates when the most recent changes were made.
